Getting Started as a Merchant
Selling on Smile Mall from onboarding to payout — the merchant portal, your store, and how you get paid.
The merchant portal
As a seller you run your store from the merchant portal. It is available in English, Shona, and Ndebele, and covers your products, orders, finance (earnings and settlements), KYC, an FAQ, and team management. Every store starts with a single owner — you — who can later invite team members.
Your journey as a seller
Onboard and pass KYC
Register your store and submit your KYC and KYB documents. Operations staff review and approve your application.
List and manage products
Add products, which pass moderation before going live. Set wholesale prices where you want bulk buyers to get a better unit price.
Take orders and choose delivery
Fulfil orders, respond to consumer quotes, and offer delivery or Collect from Store. Cash on Delivery is available per store.
Get settled
Your earnings and settlements show in the portal's finance area. Payouts release after delivery is confirmed, sized by your trust tier.
Cash on Delivery and owed fees
If you enable Cash on Delivery, the customer pays you in cash at the door, so the 2% platform fee cannot be taken through the gateway. It is booked as owed in your fee-owed ledger instead. See Cash on Delivery & Fee-Owed Ledger.
